Where are all of the holiday commercials?

Image result for christmas ads 2015

In recent years there has been a chorus of complaints, mine included, about Christmas commercials starting even before Halloween. The buy now, shop early was really annoying. This year, holiday commercials are almost non-existent, relatively speaking. The most I've seen so far are from car dealers, the little else. Why? Have companies seen the light? Have they decided to not annoy people?

Even more interesting is the total lack or new products--new fads to attract the weak minded, weak willed, the keeping up with the Jones', and the gullible. No really new gadgets-just old models made bigger or slightly modified. Star Wars-boring, been there, done that.

Yeah, there are Black Friday and pre-Black Friday and post Black Friday emails advertising sales, but it's all just same old stuff. What is going on? Are companies just trying to save on expenses? Are they concerned that wanton consumerism is a thing of the past? Do they know something about the economy that we don't? For an economy that has rebounded this lack advertising is disconcerting. The lack of anything new is bothersome.

On the one hand I was happy not to be inundated with ads in October. But here we are, the week of Thanksgiving, and I'm still not seeing what has become the normal bombardment of jingle bell ads.

When Wall Street doesn't act in their normal greedy way, it is worth taking notice; it is worth wondering why.

Why pay attention to the SOTU?

Most people pay a little attention to the State of the Union Address. They can be boring and filled with lots of rhetoric and horn tooting. However, the SOTU given on 1/20/15 is worthy of attention because it lays out the battle lines for American politics for the next few years leading up to the 2016 presidential election.

Of particular interest should be the GOP/Tea Party response. Their response, and the public reaction, will determine if we continue down the path of oligarchy (rule by the few and wealthy), or whether we reclaim the republic where we are a government for the people. Do we continue to help the wealthy or do we step up for the workers? Do we help the elderly or shunt them off to poverty in oblivion? Do we care about families or only those with the 'right' last names? Do we let loose the Cracken  of an unfettered Wall Street or rein in the abuses of unregulated money changers? Do we protect the environment and try to have a better world for our children/grandchildren or seek to make money with disregard for the consequence? Do we let consumers make intelligent/informed choices concerning the food they eat and the products they buy, or just ignore dangers of manipulated and tainted products? Are we all partners in the economy, politics, and culture, or, as in Animal Farm, are some more equal than others?

These are just some of the pressing questions and lines that have been drawn by the SOTU. We really need to pay attention or quick bitchin'. We create our reality, please do so wisely.

Disastrous not just for Democrats

Yup, democrats got whipped big time on November 4th. But they will not be the only ones to suffer. With the republicans running the show, look for new trade deals in Europe and the Asia. Sounds good? Well, have free trade deals ever increased jobs at home? No. Just as the American economy is thinking about turning around, more jobs will be sent to foreign shores. Further, most of the "free" trade deals on the table allow corporations to override local business rules and environmental regulations. Look for Wall Street to make more money and for workers to lose more jobs.

Higher wages for American workers? Yeah, right. We know where the GOP stands on raising the minimum wage.

Better jobs and higher wages for women? Umm, no.

Protection and proper response to changing climate? Not a chance. Regardless of the causes of climate change, reliance on fossil fuels , strip mining, record CO2 emissions, poisoning water supplies with fracking chemicals, massive oil spills, deforestation, arctic drilling, over fishing, acid oceans from pollution, etc., are definitely not a good thing for us or the environment. The GOP and its big money supporters have, recently, done nothing to solve these problems and are often the cause of them.

Banking reform and regulations that help Main Street and small business? Well, we know what's happening there: nothing but rules that benefit big corporations.

Peaceful approaches in foreign affairs? Isn't it the GOP that asks for more definitive military action in the Middle East?

This is not a very good time for the nation to shift to the political right. Yup, you can smoke dope in several new places but in the total scheme of things, will that really matter?

Yes, the election of 2014 was indeed disastrous.

False Hope or a Changing World?

At this point it would appear that the U.S. will not bomb Syria. And today, Iran promises it will never build a nuclear weapon. There is no saber rattling in Israel. China is quiet with its demands in Asia.  And, while Putin is a loose screw, there are no current threats from Russia. Is this a world moving toward peace? A sign that perhaps humanity is turning a corner?

Then we have Republicans who really seem to have it in for the sick, elderly, and the hungry. Businesses are raking in the cash, banks are whistling Dixie, all the while the middle class is shrinking and the poor are getting poorer.

Certainly these are interesting times; a period of transition. The environment is on a precipice, and yet we have the technology to alter its course. There is feast and famine; abundance and perceived scarcity; war and rumors of peace.

If there was ever a time to try to influence decisions, this would be it.

Silence

Silence is often deafening. I'm reminded of the song from Simon and Garfunkel, Sounds of Silence.

"And in the naked light I saw Ten thousand people, maybe more People talking without speaking People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share and no one dared Disturb the sound of silence"

So much is going on in the world, yet so few talk about what's happening. While something very fundamental is changing, silence is the sound that's heard. Make a social media post about a failing economy, floods, droughts, solar anomalies, lakes at the North Pole, methane from a thawing Tundra, the danger of fluoride, natural cures, oil spills ... and if you're lucky, you might get a few 'likes' and maybe even a comment or two, usually from the same people who post similar stories. But make a post with a cute kitten, horse, an actor, or what to have for dinner, and the comments are minion. An inspirational quote that few will ever live by gets many thumbs up, but mention that soda is turning our kids into mush and few dare to 'disturb the sound of silence.'

Are people simply in denial? Do they fear change? Truth?

"And the people bowed and prayed To the neon God they made And the sign flashed out it's warning In the words that it was forming And the signs said, 'The words of the prophets Are written on the subway walls and tenement halls' And whispered in the sounds of silence"

Perhaps it's just one of those days beset by frustration. Perhaps it's just all the cloudy weather. Perhaps it's the toll taken by so many years of of trying to alert people that "Somethings happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear."

Perhaps I just need another cup of coffee.

Mayhem, Corruption, Destruction: A New Movie?

No, just the news. Remember the old prophecy: All that is hidden will be revealed?

A quick glance at the news would seem to indicate that prophecy is coming true.  From what's in your "food" to who's spying on who, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore. We have a 'do-nothing' Congress; our emails, web searches and phone calls are being tracked and stored; our food is not really and contains everything from pesticides to viruses to human genes and who knows what else (thanks Monsanto); there is record breaking climate mayhem that rarely gets reported; science is bringing us the future now with exciting discoveries and scary technology; everyone, especially politicians, thinks that lying is the best policy; news is getting out about existing cures for cancer and other diseases while at the same time all kinds of 'new' diseases are popping up; austerity doesn't work but we're doing it anyway; the economy, depending on the news source, is both great and disastrous at the same time (must be that quantum physics stuff); and we all know this and what do we do?

If you look at economic news we see interest rate fixing, gas price fixing, mortgage rate fixing and even chocolate price fixing. At the same time there are reports that economies are getting better and we, the world, are heading out of recession, and yet, when you look at the economic data, it's all a bunch of BS! The Middle East is a joke with Muslims cutting each others throats in the name of God. Looks like we're about ready to wash our soiled hands of it all and call it a day. Wonder where all that money will go? Banks aren't lending, consumers aren't buying, and business is not hiring. Oh, wait, yes, they are using temps so they don't have to pay benefits. And, the NYSE EURONEXT is going to take over setting interest rates-Libor-HUH? Bet that'll be an improvement.

The EPA has stopped investigating fracking; all the honeybees are dying (thanks again Monsanto); BP and bank fines amount to nothing and they are probably tax deductible; the West is burning, again; the drought is still a drought; flooding is happening where there's no drought; the SUN is acting odd and is not what we thought it was; planets in our solar system are doing odd things; and wildlife is in danger everywhere.

Again, we know these things, but what are we doing?

"Just nod if you can hear me."

THEY SPEAK WITH FORKED TONGUE

If you're old enough, you'll remember this phrase. Basically, it's the same as speaking from both sides of the mouth in order to spin lies. Take any major headline and from day to day, the contradictions are amazing.

One moment the American economy is improving, then they announce that the economy contracted. One day China's economy is on the upswing, then they announce a downturn. One day they say that the EU economic outlook is good, then they announce the highest ever unemployment rate. Do you think that those who wield economic influence are trying to paint a rosy economic outlook in the face of worsening economic conditions. One the data is revealed, the reality often contradicts the spin.

To a degree, the economic powers understand that perception is everything. Make people think all is well and the consumer will spend and make them more money. But, I can't help but wonder if people may be catching on to this game. Despite the best efforts of the rich, consumer confidence is down. Stories of the effects of austerity measures in Europe, and their devastating consequences, can no longer be sweetened up in the age of the internet.

The same is true with a host of issues, including climate change. For the longest time, the fight was over data which the average person couldn't verify or refute. But now, we all have seen the consequences of climate change. From droughts to rampaging storms; extreme heat to extreme cold, we have all experienced the fact that things are not in balance with Mother Nature. The 'spin doctors' can't hide the  lack of breathable air in China, the devastation of Sandy, or millions of dead fish on the beaches.

It is said that knowledge is power. Not true. It is the use of knowledge that brings power.

LACKING VISION, NO DREAM

Well, not sure we have had one in recent times. When I was growing up, the American Dream was to have a house in the suburbs and a two car garage; a one car garage if you were blue collar; a house if at the bottom of blue collar; a meal if you were really poor. You were supposed to love your job, your family and you had to save to send your kids to college so they could one day get their house and two car garage. That was really about it. Oh, of course you went to church.

Hmmm, not really a great dream, is it? Americans have lost their vision and have no dream. We do not even seem to ask what we, as a people and a nation, want for our future. Instead, we are caught up in the mechanics of life and have lost the dream of life. The debate on gun control is not a vision, but rather a diversion from saying we want a society where we are safe from harm from one another. The debate over Social Security and Medicare/caid cuts does not say we want all to be able to have freedom to live a long healthy life. Those wanting to revise the tax code say nothing about what a tax system should be. The arguments over CO2 emissions does not say we want a pollution free environment. Our economic fiascoes say nothing about having sustainable economies in which all have free access to prosperity. The list goes on.

This problem is symptomatic of the loss of individual dreams and visions  which, taken together, create the national vision. Most just want to make it to the next day. Most pray they don't get sick or fired. Most would, indeed, sacrifice the environment for a job. Most hope their kids will hurry up and grow and move out.

Without a vision, a dream, a road map, there is no clear direction we, as individuals or the collective, wants to go. If you don't where you want to go, chances are you'll never get there. Battles in congress will continue to plague us because we are hung up on the mechanics of life. Wall Street will continue to rule our lives because we are afraid to reach for something different. Truly, there may be more than one road to reach a destination, but you have to know where you want to go. Until a destination is chosen, many will have us detour to places that simply make no sense, and that simply may be our downfall.

Don't let the bastards get you down!

I had a disheartening conversation with an acquaintance of mine a few days ago. Being well educated, she has followed the antics of the banks, the economic fiascoes, political idiocy in congress, the constant denial about climate change, Monsanto and the GMO conspiracy, and the general head in the sand affliction being experienced by so many.

She said, "I give up. I'm going to close my doors (I think she meant in her mind, not home) and just not listen anymore. There's nothing I can do anyway."

I told her that if she did that, then THEY win. They have beaten you into submission and that has been their plan all along. Like, "Your vote doesn't make a difference" as a tool to keep people from voting while they line up their faithful at the ballot boxes.

So, she may have just been having a bad day, but with all that is happening in the world, don't let the bastards get you down. THEIR hope is that as issues drag on and no actions are taken, people will forget about the problems and/or just give up in frustration, thereby, they keep control. This is not a time for indifference or complacency. I have heard others say that since nothing happened on 12/21/12, all of this Earth change must be a bunch of bunk. That is so far from the truth and so much is changing that if you are aware, it makes your head spin. But you see, THEY wanted people to believe that changes were going to be a ONE DAY event. And, since nothing happened, there are obviously no problems. That was their spin many have fallen prey to this lie.

Keep watching, stay alert, stay tuned, that big lady has not even begun to sing ... yet.

"You can't have your pudding, if you don't..."

... eat your meat." Love Pink Floyd. Thank the gods we no longer have to listen to the verbal onslaughts of political commercials. But here's the thing, will anything change? Is there a new mandate. Let's see, Obama is President, the House is controlled by the GOP, and the Senate is in the hands of the Democrats. Sounds familiar.

There is one mandate, the TEA PARTY seems to have been bagged and thrown into Boston Harbor. However, clearly, all of the problems that existed on November 5th exist on November 7th. World economies are a mess. The environment is a boiling cauldron. Major disasters will continue to demand ever dwindling public resources. The droughts, floods, severe storms are not going away. Tectonic plates are rumbling below, and cosmic radiation is raining down from above. The rich are getting richer and the poor are poorer.

If there is to be a new mandate, it must come from you, the people. The problem is that we want the pudding, but don't want to eat the meat.

-We want a cleaner environment, but we want cheap gas.
-We want safe products, but we want cheap products.
-We want jobs, but we want less government and fewer public employees.
-We want to be protected from bad business practices and toxic products, but we want fewer regulations.
-We want services, but don't want to pay for them.
-We want to bring our troops home, but we don't have any real understanding why we are even bothering with places like Afghanistan.
-We want quality education for our kids, but we fire our teachers.
-We want to be protected, but we lay off our police and firemen.
-We want to protect the environment, but we want our beach front property and build in areas prone to disaster.

The list goes on and on. We want the pudding of life but we are unwilling to change our lives so that our actions benefit all and harm none. If we want a new mandate, it will be up to you to send the White House and Congress a clear message When we, as a nation, have resolve, we accomplish great things. From WWI, WWII, to the space race, technology development and solving problems, when we stand united, we are unstoppable. But, when we falter, when we are divided, we fail ourselves and the world.

We are out of time. If we do not unite for a common purpose to basically save our place on this planet: "A nation divided shall perish."

TRICKLE DOWN DISASTER

If "no news is good news," then all of the recent economic news must be.... And, in fact it is bad news. We have at least 16 banks under investigation over the Libor scandal-basically, banks price fixing interest rates, to communities going bankrupt, EU economic meltdown, slow job growth, slowdowns in China, blah, blah, blah.

This all started with e 2008 bank meltdown and subsequent bailouts along with their raising interest rate to consumers, failure to make loans and unwillingness to re-write mortgages. Of course, this is all still going on. However, to most, the problem seemed aloof, a drama playing out on Wall Street, a place far removed from reality. But lately things have really begun to 'trickle' down to Joe Big Mac. Salaries cut to minimum wage for police, firemen, etc; tax increases, loss of benefits, people fighting to destroy any hope of quality health care, fear over fights regarding social security, and folks now turning back to credit cards to make ends meet.

Yes, we now have trickle down disaster. My question is, why is it that wealth won't trickle down, but disasters do?

WHY WE NEED THE 2012 APOCALYPSE

Yes, humanity actually needs an apocalypse in 2012. All of the great avatars and prophets and cultures, Nostradamus, Casey, the Hopi, Mayans, St. John, DaVinci, and so many others, have told us that we are traveling the wrong way on a one way street. We know that environmental stress causes evolution; basically, adapt or die. The erroneous notion is, however, that evolution is a slow process. We now know that this is not always the case and that evolution can be almost instantaneous. Flip a few genes on and the species as you know it is transformed. We also know that that the term apocalypse means ´revelation.´ Certainly, humanity is in need of revelation.

Will 2012 bring death and destruction? Well, yes, and no. Are we talking the end of the world? No. But we may be talking about an even increased series of the kind of events we saw in 2011. Climate chaos, economic meltdown, political turmoil, further radicalization of religious dogma, both human and naturally caused environmental calamity, even larger scale fish, bird, wildlife deaths, and surprises yet to be seen are all in the prophetic cards. The tempo has been building and people have been duped and too blind to see the signs of the times. We already have climate refugees. In many parts of the world, water is a scarce commodity. Increasing glacial melt is changing sea levels and possibly ocean currents. Massive fish, bird and other wildlife die offs are increasing. There have been record numbers of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. The melting, CO2 filled Tundra´s is another wild card. The Apocalypse is here now for those with eyes to see.

Here´s the thing, for some reason humanity epitomizes Newton´s law that bodies at rest, tend to stay at rest unless acted upon by an outside force. We only change when confronted by crisis. Otherwise, we stay "comfortably numb." Even when all the facts are laid out before us, our reaction is usually, "Oh, okay, whatever." But if the grocery store is empty, the enemy is at our doorstep, or the sky is actually falling, then we catalyze into action. When the disaster is upon us, we act. The key question is, "Can we always act in time to prevent total disaster?"

Memes, cultural viruses of the mind, have been the leading cause in slowing human evolution. What you do won´t make a difference. The problem is too big. You´re vote doesn´t count. God likes poor people. We need to collect billions of dollars and waste them on building absurd edifices to please God. You are all basically sinners and since you must be saved, you must follow this religious dogma. It´s always been this way and always will be. Only evil people are wealthy and they will be punished. One race is superior to another. Everything will be okay, it´s not really dangerous. You can´t cure diseases with the power of the mind. Your lot in life is the luck of the draw, live with it. We don´t have anything to do with climate change. Species die off all of the time. This is just a normal cycle. We´re too big to fail. Buy this and save. Don´t tax the rich, it will hurt the economy. Drill baby, drill. All of these viruses have been so toxic; most in the world feel helpless. And yet, for thousands of years, the mystics have told us, "No, you have the power. You create the reality." And now, quantum physics is telling those who listen that the mystics are right. The observed and the observer are one. Life in interconnected, entangled, and each event is related and affects all events. Medical science is showing us that prostate cancer and memory loss can be cured by either turning on or off genes. Basically, new paradigms are being created and old ones are being replaced.

But, timing is everything. While worn out dogmas are experiencing their death throws in church pews, the halls of science, the streets and alleys or repressed states, schools of medicine and in the depths of the human psyche, time is running out. What do I mean by that? Simply, the destruction humanity is causing on the planet is happening at a faster pace than it takes to correct the problems. We have passed environmental, economic and political tipping points. The die is cast and only clear, conscious, sincere and strong visualized choosing can ameliorate the consequences. Actually, the best you can do is save yourself since that is all anyone can really do. I do not mean run to the woods and become a survivalist, but you need to be prepared for worst case scenarios. Must it be this way? It didn´t have to, many a prophet warned of our folly. In Nostradamus´ image of the wheel in the lost book, part of the Tarot Code spoken of in the "Waking God Trilogy," we see images of a dysfunctional wheel; all that we know falling apart. In his Tower, we see the flames consuming all that we have built on a foundation or dogma, sand and error. DaVinci, in his not very discussed prophecies, talks of great calamity. But none of these things had to be. We chose the worse case in absentia, through omission, through ignorance, looking through blinders wrapped in memes we were convinced were true. And yet, we still do not act. The seed for action is there and we are seeing some positive fruit, but it appears that only the Apocalypse will wake us from our slumber and end our millennia of torment, destruction, lies, war, and disconnect from the environment and each other. Keep in mind that our evolution can, and hopefully will, be instantaneous. The tragedies, political absurdities, environmental collapse and the revelation of the greed that has dominated humanity´s history are coming to light. It can activate the ´god seed,´ the so called junk DNA within us all, that will awaken us to a new earth. Not in some idiotic religious sense, but in a deeply rooted spiritual sense in which we finally, "get it."

Make no mistake, the Apocalypse is here now. The kettle is about to boil over. If you are prepared to entertain totally new concepts, new paradigms, new sciences, a new spirituality, all will be well for you. The answer will not be outside of you. There will be no savior here, or there. You have been warned about that. In fact, as Mantrella says, a lead character in Waking God Book I, "It is not about saving humanity, it never has been." You are not evil. You are not born in some self-serving concept of universal sin. Let the pressure of 2012 build within and allow your inner transformation, your evolution.

2012 PROPHECIES

I am often asked, “Will 2012 happen?” Barring a hit by an asteroid or the arrival of Niburu, earth’s nemesis, December 21, 2012 will arrive. The world will not end. That’s the good news. So here is the rundown on the 2012 WAKING GOD PROPHECIES.

ECONOMY - No good news here. The EU debt crisis will create world-wide economic turmoil. The European Central Bank wants to be able to approve member nation budgets. Can you imagine, bankers having to approve a budget passed by Congress-Oh wait…. Even if this passes, (update: the EU has approved a version of this plan) the first time a member nation budget is not approved, all hell will break loose. Or, if this does not happen, investors are saying that nations that do not agree to this will not have their support. Chaos will ensure either way. As far as the American economy goes, it is already being negatively impacted by the EU debacle. Add the China economic constriction to the mix and the news is bleak. The out-of-control consumer spending is at an end. Watch for big drops in retail sales. Consumers will once again look to credit cards but we all know where that will end up. A Global economy brings Global economic problems. In a sense, we are experiencing the “Global Company Store.” But, as the top heavy economy crumbles, look for more localized, small is beautiful systems emerging. Continued depletion of resources will lead to scarcities. Continued environmental catastrophes will be a major factor in 2012. This is a positive event as the earth can no longer sustain the current level of rape and pillage. Advice? Keep basic necessities on hand. Have as many energy back-ups as possible-ways to cook, heat, light and eat. Rice and beans will get you through. Many more jobs will be lost, be prepared for the worst because the choices our leaders have made, or haven’t made, spells disaster!

CLIMATE – Totally no good news here either. Just look at all of the severe weather records that have been broken and the total inaction on the part of world leaders to ameliorate human impact on climate. Environmental disasters will continue to decimate insurance funds, destroy personal lives, and add to economic collapse. We are in the midst too many eco-system collapses and, much to the dismay of many, we are a part, not above nature. Climate tipping points have been reached and there is nothing we can do to avoid reaping what we have sown. However, forewarned is fore armed. Plan for the changes that are coming. Move away from any area that is prone to violent weather, quakes, water shortage, or sea rise. Get away from places that allow fracking, your water is poisonous and watch for damaging quakes in the west and mid-west. What we keep hearing is that scientist are constantly underestimating the effects of this or that factor; e.g. release of methane from Tundra, very fast glacial melts, sea current shift …. People think that climate change is always slow. This is not true and rapid changes have occurred in climate history. We are at one of those points now. Advice? I am not suggesting becoming a survivalist and hiding out in the mountains, although … I am suggesting that you have a Plan B where you can fend for yourself and family for at least 6 months. By those non-hybrid seeds this spring, assuming the climate will let you grow them. The wild card, solar flares! We have had several near misses. If we are hit head on, goodbye internet, power and ….

POLITICS – Can you say chaos? The left and right are sharply divided and nothing seems capable of bridging the gap. Not just in the U.S., you will see this division globally. People versus greed, those are the choices. I think we will see the brother against brother scenario and much social unrest. Don’t be surprised to see troops, illegally, deployed stateside. Fun times will not be had this summer, at the latest. Climate disasters and economic gridlock will create amazing tensions between haves and have nots. Cities will not be pleasant places to be. As for the Middle East, lots of danger lurks. It is quite possible that Israel will bomb Iran’s nuclear centers. The recent explosion at one of Iran’s missile sites could have been a test run. And, the downing and capture of an American drone by use of electronic jamming could put the U.S. in a supporting role. The Saudis would have no problem with this and with most of the Middle East in disarray, few are left to protest. Advice? Duck and cover! No, I don’t see a major nuclear exchange. But should this happen, relations with China would sink to an all time low. Remember, they hold trillions in U.S. debt and could make life even more economically miserable. Further, with public protests in Russia against Putin, he could use new tensions to demand more authority and become a true dictator, flouting the U.S./Israel as the scapegoats and lead the world to a new cold/semi-hot war. The other option is that Putin will be ousted but with Russians used to central authorities; it is possible another could rise from his ashes promising reform while instituting greater control, Stalin style. All in all, global politics will create further economic turmoil and the oceans will rise while politicians debate how to give banks more money. The whole in the dike is too big for a thumb. So keep an eye on events and plan accordingly.

So what’s the plan? SAVE YOURSELF! We create our reality and the reality that is coming this way is the fruit of our collective labors. However, we have all been advised to ‘be in, but not of’ this world. Meaning, yes, we live here, but don’t have to be caught up in the madness. This is the double edged sword. It is important to know what is going on, but even more important not to let events pull you into the whirlpool. A higher frequency is not affected by a lower one. The more you visualize your life as being filled with love and abundance, the greater your chances of avoiding the worst. This is the Time of Choosing discussed in the Waking God books. Not a religious choice, but a spiritual choice to consciously create a new reality for ‘your’ world. Sorry, as the character Mantrella says, “It’s not about saving humanity….” You can’t and all of the great master teachers tell you this. Actually, there really is no saving involved. Learn, experience, grow in wisdom and rise above the trials and tribulations and create a new earth. Evolve and let the dormant genes within you express themselves. We call these genes ‘god seeds.’ Again, not in any sense of worn out religious dogma, but rather, in the sense that we do and can create our reality and now is the time to do so consciously. Science is now telling us that the mystics are right. We live in an illusion of our own devices. So, is a way, by “Knowing thyself, you save yourself.”

Many prophets have pointed to this time as one of extreme danger or one of extreme evolution and enlightenment. The likes of Nostradamus, DaVinci, the Hopi, Mayans and others always painted two pictures; disaster or revelation. They told us that the bridge ahead has been washed out and that we need to detour. Many do not believe that the bridge is damaged and are unwilling to put on the breaks and veer to the less traveled road. Many cultures also talk about the ‘return of the gods.’ Is it not possible that the gods they refer to are us?

LOSE, LOSE FOR THE EU

Either the European Central Bank will gain financial sovereignty over the 17 nation union, or EU nations will suffer financial chaos. In order to 'win the trust of investors,' nations are being asked, threatened actually, to turn over their budget approvals to a central financial authority that can tel each country what and how they can spend their money. So basically, the banks, Wall Street, investors will dictate public policy for the 17 nations. The claim is that failure to do so will result in financial ruin with 'investors' unwilling to euro-nation bonds.

Can this be any more blatant? From what has been said, EU members will have to slash budgets, meaning loss of public jobs, pensions, heath, education ... in order to appease bankers. Is this the New World Order? The new world oligarchy? Why, any reasoning person should ask, do we continue to allow "INVESTORS" dictate public policy?

What is truly uncertain is whether or not events like the "Occupy" movement will have any impact on such moves by the rich and powerful. Has the growth in Wall Street power, as witnessed by their blatant disregard for anything-people, nation, climate, environment-become so strong that nothing can stand in their way as they seize control of every aspect of life? This are coming to a head in almost every human endeavor. 2012 is shaping up to be an interesting year.

FOLLOW THE MONEY

HOW TO MOVE YOUR MONEY TO A LOCAL BANK

WHAT ON EARTH WILL IT TAKE?

BIRTH PLACE OF DEMOCRACY TOLD DON'T INVOLVE CITIZENS

WHAT IRONY! The birth place of western democracy, Greece, is basically being told by the West not to be democratic by holding a public referendum on the Greek deficit crisis.

The Greek citizens did not create the crisis, but are being asked to pay the price for the sins of a few politicians and the banks.

Sound familiar? A similar situation occurred in Iceland and the people said no, twice, to paying off bad debts made by the banks. Did the world economy collapse? No. Why should it collapse if the Greeks get the right to say no to big money interests? What is really disturbing is the total lack of concern for people, and the total obsession with ensuring that bankers and investors make profits. This same scenario is happening around the world. Bailout/bonus mania is a disease that just does not respond to medication. The more they get, the more they want, regardless of the consequences to men, women and children. They don't care if you lose your home, can't feed your family, can't afford health care and can't find work.

How long must we sing this song?

Why New Businesses Often Fail for First Time Entrepreneurs?

By Cynthia Kocialski

Have you ever dreamed of becoming a business owner or entrepreneur? Can you feel how refreshing it would be to do what you love and have a passion for? Maybe you are no longer employable and entrepreneurship seems the way to control your own destiny? Or perhaps you don’t seem to fit in with the corporate world and you need to create your own world? Everyone has their own motivation, and many will try and fail. But why and how can an entrepreneur improve their chances of success?
Many fail because they are looking at entrepreneurship from an outsider’s perspective. It’s much like the difference between being a football fan and being a professional football player. It’s not just a matter stepping onto the field and playing the game. The player knows the training, the pressure to perform, the contractual obligations and the business of the game. It’s a different world for the player than the spectator.
Likewise, first time entrepreneurs don’t often understand the business of the creating a new company and a new product. While they may have spent years working in the business world, they are fans of entrepreneurship. This is the root cause of many shortcomings and failures. Because they are inexperienced, they make common mistakes that are disastrous, yet avoidable.
One mistake is to believe the product is everything, to focus all their energy and attention on the product. A new business is exactly that, it’s a “business”, not a product. The first time entrepreneur needs to spend as much time creating the business and with as much intention as the product itself. The business should not be an afterthought or secondary consideration. Most believe they need to write a business plan. Not true. While it’ll be needed at some point, it’s not always the best way to get started. If the business plan is a work of fiction or it’s based upon hope and wishful thinking, then it’s not the right starting point.
“Startup From The Ground Up” explores why an entrepreneur can only go so far with just an idea. It provides practical advice for how to get an entrepreneur moving down the right path and thinking in the right direction with practical tips, strategies, techniques and stories on how to transform an idea into a company.

THE AMERICAN WINTER: WHO WILL RAISE THE DEBT LIMIT ON THE MORAL DEFICIT?

When I speak of morals, I am not talking about those of any particular religion. Nor am I talking about some mythical objective morality expounded by Sam Harris. Both of those approaches either have, or will, take us down a path that only leads to divisiveness at best, and outright hatred at worst. Perhaps I am talking about spiritual morality or just plain common sense. This is not to say that there are not basic positive moral codes in the various religions. In fact, their fundamental principles are essentially the same. However, the mere invocation of a Christian, Muslim moral precept raises the hackles of the non-Christian or Muslim.

Most have followed our dysfunctional Congress as they debated raising the debt ceiling. Most were also appalled at the way political ideology almost, and still may, brought the nation to economic ruin. Much of the debate, particularly from the far right, the Tea Party, centered on the notion that government has gotten too big and that liberties were being destroyed by Big Brother. What mattered little was any concern for the elderly, the poor, the unemployed and the needs of the people and the environment. Concern seemed greatest for Wall Street, the banks and the rich. Unfortunately for us all, the concerns over Big Brother have been misplaced. It is not the government that should be watched. Rather, it is the power of the rich.

America has always had a common sense tradition of helping each other. This is the very notion of ‘commonwealth.’ It wasn’t until the Industrial Revolution that the ‘people’ felt the need to increase the role of government in order to protect that commonwealth. Abuses by growing corporations against men, women and children led to demands by the people that they be protected against the onslaught of corporate greed. When it was discovered that these same ‘robber barons’ were also destroying the environment, once again, the people demanded redress. The abuses of Wall Street resulted in the creation of a host of social safety programs that would help guarantee that people could live their lives with decency. As a society, we agreed that no one should be hungry, homeless, or without some form of medical help and income in their later years. The people took a moral stance as to how we wanted to live and die and agreed to let our government do what was necessary to accommodate these desires. Was or are the programs designed to meet these objectives perfect. Of course not.

The growth of government corresponded with the abuses of corporations. Blatant and wanton environmental destruction required environmental laws. The use of dangerous and disease producing chemicals in products required safety laws. Dangerous toys and false product claims demanded further regulation. Shoddy construction required building standards. A society on the go resulted in even more safety laws. The point is, where we are today is the result of corporate abuse. It makes common sense to want safe products, clean water and air, a life where you don’t lose all to pay for medical needs, and some form of protection from companies that have no issue with moving jobs to foreign lands so they can make larger profits. Government did not grow because of some dictator that assumed power and then imposed its will upon the people. It grew because of the will of the people.

I would venture to say that on average, people don’t generally feel that government controls their daily lives. Unless you are trying to do something that may affect your neighbors, most people can say, do, and think what they will. Yes, we have certainly allowed protections to go overboard, but the fundamental needs and wishes of the people for a safe, secure, free and open society have not changed. Further, there is still the option of throwing rascals out of office.

However, let’s look at Wall Street. Given the opportunity, and there are plenty of them, they are openly impinging upon your rights and freedoms. Whenever possible, they have and will take away your right to a safe environment. They pollute the air, the water and the soil. From oil spills to carcinogenic materials, they do all that they can to make profit over preserving the environment. They also lie about what they are doing and are rarely held accountable for their actions. Whenever possible, they take as many short cuts as they can with regard to food safety. They fight against the right of workers to bargain for good wages and benefits and if it gets too dicey, they simply move jobs overseas, thus curtailing you right to live and work where you choose. In the name of a free economy, they try to take away your right to social security and want you to mortgage your life away for private insurance. They create new diseases and then the pill to fix it, until it’s deemed dangerous and taken off the market. They destroy small businesses but out competing and pricing. They suck you into a mortgage you can’t afford and then take your home away to sell to the next sucker. They charge usurious rates for credit and will toss you out on the street at the first hint of any payment problem. They purposely withhold inventions and technologies so that they can continue to exhaust a resource and pull every penny out each investment, if even if that investment is destructive. In a 8/4/11 article in the Huffington Post regarding patents, it was noted that:

Today, the patent bill looks like a scorecard tallying points for powerful corporations: a win for pharmaceutical companies whose monopolies are driving up Medicare costs; a win for Wall Street's battle against check-processing patents; a loss for tech giants who had hoped to curb costly lawsuits.

Left out of the tally is the public, even as the economic landscape for American families grows darker. Historian Richard Hofstadter famously observed that Congress during the Gilded Age busied itself with dividing the nation's spoils among the rich and powerful. But as the current patent struggle suggests, the spoilsmen are back and Washington is once again an arbiter of who lands the lucre.”

What is ironic is that the very right wing groups who decry the growth of big government are trying to through the public back into the hands of big corporations whose sole motive is to make money. These very same hands are the reason for the growth in government in the first place as it was necessary to fight the growing stranglehold Wall Street did and does have on every American citizen. The moral deficit in this country far surpasses the extent of the budget deficit. We are in the American Winter, one can only hope that we see spring once again.
