I died a little

 I died a little today

Bombs exploded

Cannons loaded

Children screaming

I died a little today

Amid all the lies

The heartbroken mother cries

Only cold ground to lay her head

I died a little today

They fear to tread among the dead

Calling loved ones, no one fed

I died a little today

We will help and walk away

For fear of stepping into the fray

I died a little today

The voices of hatred so loud

Untouched and so damn proud

I died a little today

Kind words not spoken

Promises broken

I died a little today

Worry about the spark while the forest burns

Soon it will be us, the wheel turns

I died a little today

Truth dissolved

No problems solved

I died a little today

Has all hope faded?

Is my heart too jaded?

I died a little today

Wake up

Wake up

Even nature cries

Prayer is nice, but ...

...it hasn't historically worked, on a societal scale, to prevent or stop wars. It pits gods against gods and truthfully, the gods could care less. Praying for peace sets one idea against another with the assumption that someone is right and someone is wrong--these being moral judgements. Whose morals are are often suspect.

Does this advocate for war? Not in the least. But let's face it, since the birth of religion, prayer have done nothing to stop wars.

Timeline of wars

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The timeline of wars has been split up in the following periods:

I'm sure for most of these wars there were priests/priestesses and commoners praying for peace, or perhaps to win. And yet, century after century proved that the gods do not rule the wars of man.

What's the solution?

Nonviolent protests are twice as likely to succeed as armed conflicts – and those engaging a threshold of 3.5% of the population have never failed to bring about change. https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20190513-it-only-takes-35-of-people-to-change-the-world

Ultimately, she would like our history books to pay greater attention to nonviolent campaigns rather than concentrating so heavily on warfare. “So many of the histories that we tell one another focus on violence – and even if it is a total disaster, we still find a way to find victories within it,” she says. Yet we tend to ignore the success of peaceful protest, she says.

“Ordinary people, all the time, are engaging in pretty heroic activities that are actually changing the way the world – and those deserve some notice and celebration as well.”

Relying on prayer to end wars, as many do, creates a false hope, instills inaction, and encourages mindless repetition, and solves nothing.

Perhaps the solution is not prayer, but to rise up in nonviolent actions.

"It's time we stop..."

PLEASE READ THESE LYRICS AND THINK!

Lyrics

There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware
I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind
It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side
It's s time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away
We better stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, now, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

ISIS Prediction

I believe that ISIS/ISIL may well have radicalized itself out of existence. The clock is ticking.

Image result for french flag

It is my prediction that France, with help from the U.S., Britain, Russia and others will conduct a air/ground assault on all ISIS strongholds. Russia will help with the deal that the coalition will not use this effort as an opportunity to remove Assad, and will, in fact, leave his fate in the hands of Russia. I wouldn't be surprised if the coalition effort also included coordinated attacks on sites in Africa, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Increased airstrikes will occur to "soften" targets, but knowing that any real defeat must include feet on the ground, ISIS has crossed a line that will make that happen. Iran and the Saudis will be heavily involved and the ISIS held thought that that there will be a surge of Muslim support for them will be revealed for the illusion that it is.

The clock is ticking against this band of sadistic murderers. While it will take time to organize, time is running out for ISIS.Image result for isis

The Climate Monster Under The Bed

While the monster under the bed has been exposed with the help of the Climate Change Marches, will anything really change? The rhetoric is wonderful. As the President said, "No nation -- including ours -- is immune to climate change." But despite all of the speeches and talk of the need for action, it appears that very little will be accomplished.

Sure, executive orders can accomplish a few thins and enforcing rules and regulations could also help, but given that U.S. emissions actually rose this past year and global CO2 emissions set another record, the efficacy of these tools are clearly questionable.

Yes, in recent surveys Americans were found to be more aware of and concerned with climate change, but will people vote for the environment in the upcoming mid-term election? Polls would indicate no. And any real talk of new rules and laws are still putting action years out. Nations aren't even meeting on the topic until December in Lima and then do nothing until Paris in 2015. And even then, given past experience, any real action may not occur for many years after.

The monster in no longer under the bed. It is running rampant throughout the world. With so much money being spent on the effects of climate change, war, and the control of disease, what will be left to spend on ameliorating climate change impact. We cannot stop climate change. What we can do is prepare people and the world for a pollution free and energy sustainable future.

Follow the money to know why little will be done.

False Hope or a Changing World?

At this point it would appear that the U.S. will not bomb Syria. And today, Iran promises it will never build a nuclear weapon. There is no saber rattling in Israel. China is quiet with its demands in Asia.  And, while Putin is a loose screw, there are no current threats from Russia. Is this a world moving toward peace? A sign that perhaps humanity is turning a corner?

Then we have Republicans who really seem to have it in for the sick, elderly, and the hungry. Businesses are raking in the cash, banks are whistling Dixie, all the while the middle class is shrinking and the poor are getting poorer.

Certainly these are interesting times; a period of transition. The environment is on a precipice, and yet we have the technology to alter its course. There is feast and famine; abundance and perceived scarcity; war and rumors of peace.

If there was ever a time to try to influence decisions, this would be it.

IS IRAN PAYING HAMAS TO GET ISRAEL OFF THEIR BACKS?

We know that Hamas used Iranian rockets to strike Tel Aviv and that Iran is supplying arms to Islamic militants. Given that life is a low valued commodity in the Middle East, I believe that Iran is paying Hamas to strike Israel in order to give Iran more time to develop its nuclear capability, or, at least, to further delay any Israeli assault on the Iranian nuclear program. Whatever Israel has to use to defend itself will temporarily deplete some of its defensive munitions and may forestall any near term action against Iran.

It would also not be surprising that arms dealers are fueling the fires as they will gain massive profits from this conflict. Further, if a full blown war erupts, there will be a lot less attention on the global economic crisis, climate change and things like regulatory reforms. Yes, this is a conspiracy theory, but analyze the facts and decode for yourself.

"You can't have your pudding, if you don't..."

... eat your meat." Love Pink Floyd. Thank the gods we no longer have to listen to the verbal onslaughts of political commercials. But here's the thing, will anything change? Is there a new mandate. Let's see, Obama is President, the House is controlled by the GOP, and the Senate is in the hands of the Democrats. Sounds familiar.

There is one mandate, the TEA PARTY seems to have been bagged and thrown into Boston Harbor. However, clearly, all of the problems that existed on November 5th exist on November 7th. World economies are a mess. The environment is a boiling cauldron. Major disasters will continue to demand ever dwindling public resources. The droughts, floods, severe storms are not going away. Tectonic plates are rumbling below, and cosmic radiation is raining down from above. The rich are getting richer and the poor are poorer.

If there is to be a new mandate, it must come from you, the people. The problem is that we want the pudding, but don't want to eat the meat.

-We want a cleaner environment, but we want cheap gas.
-We want safe products, but we want cheap products.
-We want jobs, but we want less government and fewer public employees.
-We want to be protected from bad business practices and toxic products, but we want fewer regulations.
-We want services, but don't want to pay for them.
-We want to bring our troops home, but we don't have any real understanding why we are even bothering with places like Afghanistan.
-We want quality education for our kids, but we fire our teachers.
-We want to be protected, but we lay off our police and firemen.
-We want to protect the environment, but we want our beach front property and build in areas prone to disaster.

The list goes on and on. We want the pudding of life but we are unwilling to change our lives so that our actions benefit all and harm none. If we want a new mandate, it will be up to you to send the White House and Congress a clear message When we, as a nation, have resolve, we accomplish great things. From WWI, WWII, to the space race, technology development and solving problems, when we stand united, we are unstoppable. But, when we falter, when we are divided, we fail ourselves and the world.

We are out of time. If we do not unite for a common purpose to basically save our place on this planet: "A nation divided shall perish."

China watches US military

The winds of war are but a breeze--at the moment. But with the way things are going, they could become a maelstrom. If you can visualize peace, please do so now, and ever day!

HUMANITY ON TRIAL: COUNTDOWN TO 2012

We have all heard of the growing phenomena on the internet called “social networking.” What may be new is the degree to which this networking is beginning to take on major societal issues. A new networking site has been created called, “HUMANITY ON TRIAL: COUNTDOWN TO 2012” (http://humanityontrial.ning.com/). The introduction says, “Is humanity worth preserving? By December 1st, 2012, this court will render its verdict.”

The network is organizing various groups including prosecuting and defense teams, witnesses and a jury. Early posts on the site are being made in the various forums on such topics as: Human Religions, Historical Evidence of War, Racism and Bigotry, The Environment, Human Redeeming Qualities, 2012, Prophecy and more. The network is currently discussing the various pros and cons regarding the continuation of the human species as the ranks of members begin to take on a global composition. In addition to posts from across the United States, members are weighing in from Australia, China, Iran, France, the UK, Latin America and Canada.

As the sides organize, it is expected that a mock trial will also will take place. What is unique is that the trial will occur on the internet radio. The creator of the networking site says that he will use his internet BlogTalkRadio show, “All Things That Matter” as the venue for the trial. Shows will be devoted to opening arguments and special segments for both the defense and prosecution. Listeners will be given the opportunity to cast their vote in a special poll that will be taken after the defense rests.

Citing the growing global crises regarding the environment, food, oil, politics and religions it is the intent of the trial to not only raise global awareness of these issues but to also offer possible solutions. Many are familiar with the various prophecies concerning the year 2012 and it is hoped that the trial will help people to decide if humanity does have or even should have a future on what CNN has termed, this “Planet in Peril.” It would appear that social networks are moving beyond making connections to addressing key issues facing the planet.

Despite one’s view on “doomsday” scenarios and the prophecies of the Mayans, the Hopi and even Nostradamus, there is little doubt that humanity is in crisis. Continuing updates on climate change, volatile political hot spots, the recent reports on the food crisis and the growing issues of inflation and oil production would indicate that the human race is at a crossroads and that decisions it makes now may well in fact determine its survival. The Humanity on Trial network, while presenting contrary opinions on our chances of survival agrees with one basic premise; time is running out.
