Boomers last dance

white clouds over city buildings during daytime

This is the Boomers last dance and last chance. There was a time when boomers were filled with idealism: the Age of Aquarius, love everyone, civil rights, inclusive, question everything, experiment, try new things, explore new ideas.

But something went horribly wrong. Pong, calculators, fancy cars, fancy gadgets, style, being cool, homes in the 'burbs, having families, 9 to 5.

There had been a sense that we were here to change the world for the better, to throw off the yoke of polluting oil and mass consumerism. We were the New Age of spiritual enlightenment. Remember the Harmonic Convergence? But the bills kept coming, the wallet full of credit cards was sinking under its own weight. Yes, we knew about Silent Spring and that we had to move to protect the environment. But we thought we had plenty of time, technology would solve the day, and would all sing kumbaya. However, the world got away from the boomers and as Pink Floyd says, "comfortably numb." As a result, while there have been movements to protect the planet, the power of the Oil Cartels and their friends have been able to disable movements that would end the their reign.

The hoped for evolution has not really happened and we continue to choke the life out of the planet. Despite catastrophe after catastrophe, people still think that getting even more oil is better then the alternative: the rise of renewable energy. People have believed the propaganda that this change must take time and in the meantime we must build more pipelines and drill more wells. BS

It looks like it will take general calamity to raise this phoenix from the ashes. Floods, sea level rise, pandemics, extreme weather, species decimation, skyrocketing fuel/energy costs, social collapse, wars and more are all coming together to force a change in humanity. Of course we can try to ride it out, but that is a lost cause. Maybe to greedy oil companies have done us a favor, By setting record high prices we have two choices: let drill more, pipe more, and pollute more (Earth is at the tipping point now), or bite the bullet and demand a high speed, all oars in the water push for renewables. The latter would be painful, but the former is definitely deadly.

So dear Boomers, decision time, this is our last dance, our last chance.

The Myth/Meme, Dilemma of Scarcity

Have you ever seen the phrase, "Hurry while supplies last"? Have you read headlines about food shortages, oil depletion, the water crisis, lack of land? Is the notion of scarcity, real, or fabricated?

Perhaps with respect to a specific consumer item, say an iPhone, it is easy to understand that if only so many are made, then supply is limited. Regarding oil, if they only pump X barrels, then we can see that there will be only so much to go around. If we pollute the water, then there is only so much drinking water that can be consumed. It is easy to understand that there is only so many acres of agricultural land and therefore, only so much food can be produced.

If we view the world parochially, then the notion of scarcity may make sense. Of course, it is also easy to understand that supplies can be manipulated and shortages artificially created. A company make make only so many phones, computers, cars, etc. in order to keep supply low and prices high. In fact, this tends to be the rule, not the exception.

But suppose we take a more worldly and even universal view. There is no shortage of energy on the planet or in the universe. In fact, everything is made of energy. So is it really a question of is there enough oil, or is it simply a matter or trying to determine how to utilize all of the free/abundant energy that exists everywhere? Recent articles in the Huffington Post about teens that invented a flashlight that runs on body heat and on using ambient energy (from radio waves, satellite transmissions, TV, etc) to power small electronic devices are but  small examples of the limitless potential of energy that exists. Of course, we have all heard of Tesla and his free energy devices that have remained hidden. The earth herself is a giant electric generator who is also bathed in electromagnetic energy from the sun and the cosmos. Energy shortage, really?

Okay, but there must be a shortage of food. Well, if you mean cows, corn and rice, you could make the case that there's only so much or that only so much could be produced. However, if we think in terms of sustenance and not pigs, sheep, or grain, it should be a bit clearer that there are limitless ways to sustain life. Science is constantly discovering new super foods, and I don't mean the fake crap they produce in factories using nano-technology, that, while not pizza, they are life sustaining.

Land shortage? Okay, but is there a space shortage? New futuristic building designs are not only energy self-sufficient, but also food self-sufficient; using roof tops, terraces and aqua-culture to grow food. Possibilities are endless.

There is no scarcity other than those self-created or imposed for the purpose of keeping profits high. So what's the dilemma? The concept of limitless supply only works IF you take the universal view. Yes, there is only so much iron on the planet. If it's used up, it's gone. But, it can be forever recycled. There are only so many diamonds. If they're hoarded, they're gone. But so what? We can value something else. There is only so much MONEY? Not true, the Fed has been printing all kinds of money to bailout/give to the banks. We can print all the money we want. It has no intrinsic value other than what we say it has. Water? If all the water is polluted, you will die. But we can stop polluting and we can clean up the water. It is even possible to extract water from desert air and companies have devices that can now do that. Ever hear of 'star water?' It's worth looking up.

The dilemma is just that with a parochial and selfish world view, there are limits, there is lack, and some will have and some will not. But, if humanity as a whole takes a broader view of life, its resources its functions and its requirements, then we discover that we live in an infinite and limitless world in which all things are possible.

Awakening the Harmony Within

 Product Details

Understanding of your personal energy “broadcast” and how to remain in control of it

We are resonators. We broadcast our unique energy frequency, and it attracts to us whatever matches it. If we are abundant and joyous, we will attract more abundance and joy into our lives, and also the people who bring us abundance and joy. If we carry a lot of fear, we will attract something that will activate that fear in order for us to have an opportunity to clear it inside of ourselves. A person with a lot of fear will attract to themselves people who are the activators of that fear (they trigger a fear response in us through their actions), and also people who are similarly afraid (they amplify our fear, making it very obvious). But there is more!

We are the ones who have created our vibratory signature and we are the ones who broadcast it. This means we can also change what we are broadcasting by changing who we are. We create events by our broadcast, and we generate that broadcast through this sequence:

Belief - Thought - Emotion/Reaction - Broadcast.

If you do not like what your life is reflecting back to you, look inside for what are you broadcasting out into the world. Find the perpetrator belief, thought, emotion (judgments, fears, limited assumptions about life, etc.) and modify it until your life begins to match a more harmonious frequency. We are not victims of our circumstances – everything in our lives is there because we have attracted it to us. We are the masters (in training) of our personal reality.

If your thoughts, words, and actions are for the highest benefit of yourself and all beings, then your broadcast is harmonious. This automatically modifies the emotions you are experiencing and changes the circumstances you attract. It enhances the quality of your life. In other words, “take the higher road” no matter what, and your life will be of integrity and honor, attracting abundance and joy.

If we broadcast random signals (unconscious), we get messy life experiences. If we control our signals (mastery, consciousness), then we gain control with the circumstances of our lives and become aware of the lessons. Taken further, we then can learn from these lessons, so we do not broadcast the same unconscious signal over and over. Once we begin to transcend density as our consciousness range expands, we let go of survival strategies as a way of life – which the “control over life” way of thinking is based on – and instead move onto the spiritual blueprint – which “control with life” is based on. In short, “control over life” implies a fear based existence of survival, and the need to control life in order to be safe; while “control with life” is about being a member of spiritual community, permeated by the life force, and it is about the mastery of consciousness instead of the override of life in order to feel safe. The “control with life” way implies internal safety as its foundation. Mastery of our broadcast is only possible with internal safety. Being in control of our energy broadcast means we can create the life we want – filled with joy, meaning, abundance and fulfillment.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book for advanced students of metaphysics August 27, 2013
Format:Paperback
As a person who regularly reads titles related to metaphysics and spiritual growth, I usually know in fairly short order whether a book I've begun to read is going to resonate with me or not. It only took reading the first chapter of "Awakening the Harmony Within" for me to be deeply drawn into the balance of it. In the context of this work the author addresses many very complex metaphysical subjects that, in many instances, I'd never encountered previously. Even with twenty years of walking the path of spiritual growth, I am delighted to report that I was able to learn a lot from this book. Ms. Oganova is clearly an expert in her field, and based on my experience in reading this work I now also look forward to reading her first book, "Mission Alpha."

200 DAYS

Following the election, President Obama was hailed as a savior by some, and a devil by others. Those on the political left hailed his election as a victory for peace, tolerance and the end of worn out dogma. Those on the right shuddered in their three piece suits and cried that this was certainly the End Times.

Critics of his first 200 days say that he has failed to achieve anything except driving the nation deeper into debt. He has not achieved consensus on health care, climate change legislation or our true role in Afghanistan and has put having a beer before the crucial issues facing our nation.

There are apologists on the left who blame the right for any failures and delays and who claim that any financial concerns are merely a holdover from the eight years of the Bush administration. If we have learned anything from our political history, it should be that truth is rarely found in the right or the left. For that matter, it is not even found in the middle, as that seat on the political spectrum is the result of compromise, where bits of truth come together to form a consensus which is merely a place of acceptance, not one of truth. Each side gets a little, but the solution is not necessarily the right thing to do, it is the expedient thing to do.
Have President Obama's first 200 days been a success, despite political failures? My answer is yes. Not because all kinds of new and progressive legislation has been passed; not because we are now at peace in the Middle East; and not because our budget has been balanced. It is a success because we are now talking about the crucial issues that affect our nation and the world. We are talking about climate change, health care reform, education reform, and about others ways to solve political tensions, other than by use our military might. We are thinking about new ways to do things, new approaches to pressing issues, and new solutions outside the old political boxes. To me, this is encouraging.

As a Republican, I voted for Mr. Obama. The old ways were crumbling and doing business as usual was no longer acceptable. There was little chance for dialogue, and information that was crucial for decision-making was fabricated or suppressed. Shoot first and ask questions later were no longer an option. Our nation and our planet is at the edge. The decisions we make now will determine if we rise or fall. The real issue is not have we passed programs in 200 days, it is that we are trying to solve the issues and not hide them in some CIA vault. The remaining problem is that we cannot talk about solutions forever. Decisions must be made now. We know that the ways of the past were a failure. Politicians from both sides of the aisle must now come together and decide. If Obama fails, we all fail!

OIL COMPANIES: WHITE COLLAR CRIME AT ITS WORST!

The recent surge in oil prices is the epitome in white collar crime. One cannot help but wonder how long people and politicians will sit idly by while oil corporations steal from the poor to fatten their overflowing wallets. On Friday oil hit $95.93, down slightly from Wednesdays high of $98.62 a barrel. Just out of shear delight my guess is that forces are at work to reach the $100/barrel mark, just to say that it did.

The rationale for such high prices has become an annual refrain. One reason is the drop in U.S energy reserves. How do people become billionaires by not having enough reserves for the winter? This excuse is heard every year. Do oil companies not have calendars? Why should reserves be low going into heating and holiday travel season? That would be like stores letting their stocks of goods dwindle before the holiday shopping season. Does that make any sense? Is it a secret that people use oil to heat their homes?

Another excuse is the proverbial storm. Okay, a North Sea storm closed some Norwegian platforms. Doesn’t this happen at the beginning of every winter? Of course there are storms. In hurricane season there are, let me guess, hurricanes? We all know this and so do the oil companies. Don’t they plan for this?

These are my favorites: there might be a revolution somewhere so prices go up. There may be a storm somewhere, so prices go up. A prince in Saudi Arabia sneezed, prices go up! This is all ridiculous. There is no question in my mind that oil prices will have to rise. This will probably be the major stimulus to forcing people into using alternative energy, most of which products are owned by oil companies anyway. Oil will not last forever.

The Washington reported that consumers are paying $4-5 billion more per DAY for oil than they did just 5 years ago. This adds some $2 trillion to the oil companies bank accounts. How much more do oil companies want? When oil hits these kinds of levels it affects every aspect of the economy. The list of petrol based products is astounding. As consumer dollars are increasingly spent on energy, little is left for other products. My guess is that this year’s holiday retail sales will be abysmal. Who will lose? The outlook is not good for small businesses who cannot offer deep consumer discounts. So the winners will be Wal-Mart and other super retail chains. Can we see the trend here? Small will not only “not” be beautiful, small will not exist!

So where does this leave us? Up the creek, I would say. Oil companies and speculators are going to destroy small businesses and drive the consumer into the ground while they fill their bank accounts. Where are our political leaders? Why are they not forcing change? Why are they letting oil companies commit the crime of the century? The middle and lower classes in America are bleeding to death and they do nothing. Have they given us an alternative? No! Are their heads in the sand? Yup! Elections are coming and he/she who is willing to take the oil companies on will get my vote!

PETS, PEOPLE AND TOYS, OH MY!

First pet food, then people food and toys; what’s next? You have to love globalization and all of its wonderful ramifications. Actually, when I first heard of globalization I thought it was a wonderful concept. The idea that trade barriers between nations would disappear opening the doors to an infinite array of goods from other cultures and nations appeared exciting. In the absence of high tariffs exotic products from around the world would be at our fingertips.

What got lost in the translation? I guess others had an entirely different view of globalization in mind. To the corporations, it meant being able to hire children and adults for pennies a day in order to make their goods. Without high taxes and in the absence of foreign environmental and labor laws, companies could now produce products for little cost abroad and get them back here cheaply. Rather than importing foreign products, we began to import our own products to the detriment of domestic labor.

Of course, not only did it hurt U.S. workers, it opened the door to massive abuse of labor abroad. Hungry for jobs, foreign governments courted American producers at the expense of their own people. And, now, as we all know, the majority of products that we buy are made in China or other Asian and Latin American countries. To keep costs low these nations have few laws protecting their workers and little in the way of environmental rules or product safety standards. We all know the old adage; “what goes around, comes around.” So here we are, dead pets, poison in our foods and now lead in our children’s toys.

Of course, these are only the things that have been discovered-to date. What other product safety issues are lurking in our future? What else are we using or consuming that may harm our future generations? Isn’t time to say enough? As a product of the 60’s and 70’s I was hooked on the “small is beautiful” concept. Local produce, local jobs, local supplies of energy and local cultures all interacting to create a wonderful whole was very appealing. We need to return to this concept.

Energy issues must be addressed regionally and even locally. In some places the answer may be hydro, or wind or solar while others may see biomass or other alternatives. Those that can work everywhere can be shared but solutions cannot all be universal. Even from an energy safety perspective, differing systems are easier to protect than one large grid. This also holds for food production. The conscious effort to destroy the family farm was the worst decision to ever hit our agricultural system. I want beans and carrots from Maine, not Mexico-no offense intended. Corporate farming is a bust. The food supply is too concentrated in the hands of the few. Further, if bad weather or disease strikes these corporate farms, our food supplies are gone. Local food means a safer supply and one that can be closely monitored. Who knows what has been put on peppers from Latin America or put into beef from Argentina?

Look at the recent snafu in the housing market. Why should a credit squeeze in the U.S. send Asian stocks tumbling? We know the answer and the answer highlights the problem. Who wants their mortgage held by a bank in Hong Kong? Why are we permitting stock markets to merge? Why are we allowing the continued concentration of wealth and power in the hands of the few?

We need a new concept of globalization. It should come to mean a world that shares ideas, cultures, information and solutions. Globalization must bring people together to find common solutions to common problems and not the continued exploitation of the many by the few. A “small is beautiful” concept with a global perspective is the only way we will get through these troubled times. It is time to wake up people. If we do not approach the coming changes with a renewed sense of cooperation instead of competition, we will get what we deserve.

ENERGY BILL: TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE

Is the energy bill enough or too little, too late? If it were twenty years ago the recent bill passed by the U.S Senate would have been applauded for its foresight and innovation. While not getting all that they wanted, the bill includes provisions that would increase fuel mileage to a fleet average of 35mpg by 2020; boost ethanol production sevenfold; prevent oil price gouging; increase appliance and lighting efficiencies; and, provide research into more energy efficient vehicles.

As was expected, the now anti-environment Republicans killed a tax on oil companies to help fund renewable energy as well as a requirement to force utilities to bur electricity from renewable energy suppliers. It would appear that Republicans have grown too accustomed to feeding off of the oil producers to even think of taking any of their record making profits. And they wonder why they will lose in 2008?

If this bill passed twenty years ago, assuming the President signs it, this would have been hailed as an environmental milestone. My concern, however, is that based upon the U.N. global climate change reports, we do not have until 2020 to begin the process of reducing green house gas emissions. If fleet averages just reach 35mpg by 2020 there is no expectation that everyone is going to run out and purchase a new vehicle at that time. It will take years past the 2020 date before major reductions in emissions are felt. That kind of time is not on our side.

According to the DAILY FUEL ECONOMY TIP the following information relates to fuel economy of several U.S. vs. Japanese auto makers:
Top 5 Most Fuel Efficient American Cars:
Ford Escape Hybrid - 36 mpg city / 31 mpg highway
Chevy Aveo - 26 mpg city / 35 mpg highway
Ford Focus - 26 mpg city / 34 mpg highway
Chevy Cobalt - 25 mpg city / 34 mpg highway
Ford Fusion - 24 mpg city / 32 mpg highway
Top 5 Most Fuel Efficient Japanese Cars:
Honda Insight - 60 mpg city / 66 mpg highway
Toyota Prius - 60 mpg city / 51 mpg highway
Honda Civic Hybrid - 49 mpg city / 51 highway
Toyota Corolla - 32 mpg city / 41 mpg highway
Toyota Matrix - 30 mpg city / 36 mpg highway

The obvious question raised from the above is, what is so exciting about getting 35mpg by the year 2020? The Japanese are far exceeding these standards now! The technology obviously exists to make immediate impacts on climate change and U.S. auto makers will find themselves wondering why their sales continue to decline.
Even now we are seeing drastic changes in the climate and factors not even considered in the UN’s equations are cropping up. The poles are saturated with CO2, glacial melt is faster and other unsuspected factors are emerging that were not even considered in earlier projections. The web of nature is so complex we do not understand or account for all of those relationships in our modeling and our predictions. Most informed scientists say we have to act now to reduce emissions and political leaders are still acting as if we have decades to solve or at least address climate change issues. All evidence is to the contrary.

A recent ABC News story says the following:
“Even "moderate additional" greenhouse emissions are likely to push Earth past "critical tipping points" with "dangerous consequences for the planet," according to research conducted by NASA and the Columbia University Earth Institute.
With just 10 more years of "business as usual" emissions from the burning of coal, oil and gas, says the NASA/Columbia paper, "it becomes impractical" to avoid "disastrous effects.”
By heralding the new research paper, NASA is endorsing science that places considerably more urgency on the need to reduce emissions to avoid "disastrous effects" of global warming than was evident in the recent reports from the world's scientists coordinated by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
The new NASA release emphasizes the danger of "strong amplifying feedbacks" pushing Earth past "dangerous tipping points."

Regardless of all of the back slapping for this new piece of environmental legislation, the public must come to understand that the called for measures are too little, too late. We do not have until 2020 to start making major changes in the way we live. Our own government agencies are issuing dire warnings but our politicians are off in the ozone layer somewhere, assuming there still is one.
