2012 AND NOSTRADAMUS: NO NEW SECRETS REVEALED

There were no “startling new secrets” in the SyFy show about 2012 that was hosted by Lester Holt. Neither has the History Channel show, “The Nostradamus Effect” shed any new light on the prophecies regarding 2012. The fact of the matter is, these shows may end up in a self-fulfilling effect. Basically, they have it all wrong, again.

Both shows are adding to the atmosphere of fear regarding 2012. If you follow the trends in quantum physics, it is becoming increasing clear that the ancient were right all along; form follows thought. The shows basically portray three scenarios: the world will come to an end; 2012 will be a new beginning; or, nothing will happen and December 22, nd 2012 will be just another day. The basic reason that these shows have it all wrong is because they are interpreting prophecy form a religious point of view. The Christian Armageddon is popular headline and scary images of death and destruction makes for wonderful bylines and sound bites. However, such interpretations are false and misleading. The Mayans were not Christian. The Hopi were not Christian. The I Ching is not Christian. Further, seers like Nostradamus and DaVinci and even Newton, while immersed in a dogma controlled culture ruled by the Church, were all mystics and members of mystical organizations. Their writing were couched and coded in the religious terms of the day because, to do otherwise, meant a nice hot stake. Even John’s Revelation has been misrepresented. The true meaning of apocalypse is not Armageddon, but rather to reveal, uncover, and has been said, knowledge revealed. How better to boost lagging tithes and fill emptying pews than to scare people into believing that the Day of Judgment is at hand. Even Jesus said, “Judge not.” These same scare tactics have been used throughout history to frighten the uninformed into the folds of religious dogma and to create meek sheep that do as they are told. The sad past, like the wolf and red Riding Hood, is that the shepherds are, in fact, the wolves.

In following these shows, and of course the new movie, 2012, the world is destroyed several times over. So, if this is what happens, live, drink and be merry, for in 2102 all will be lost. There will be wars, famine, pestilence, nuclear destruction, 30,000 foot tidal waves, super volcano explosions, massive earth quakes, massive solar radiation, tectonic plate shifts, polarity shift and, oh yes, a 1,000 years of peace. There is no question that the images are dazzling. But again, get enough people believing this, and they may actually cause it to happen. Keep in mind, much of our current economic crisis is attributed to the lack of consumer confidence, a thought form that may well prevent any serious economic recovery.

The script of the skeptics is equally absurd. According to them, December 21, 2012 will be just another day. Actually, it may be just another as Mayan calendar expert, Carl Johan Calleman says that the real end date is October 28th, 2011. This notion is supported by acclaimed author James Redfield of “Celestine Prophecy” fame. In fact, according to Calleman, energies are already flowing to our home planet and the recent world upheavals are offered as evidence. What bothers me most about skeptics is that they tend to skeptical about everything. It is that head- in- the-sand mentality that is disturbing. They believe that global warming and climate change is a hoax; the economy would be just fine if government would leave it alone; insurance companies have our best interests at heart; poor people deserve to be poor; and, if there is global warming, there is plenty of dollars to made in them there thermometers.

Be as skeptical all you want that a sudden change will happen on a single. But you know, volcanoes blow in a single day. Earthquakes cause tsunamis in a single day. Empires have fallen and risen from a single battle on a single day. People are born and die on a single day. This raises a point. In the books “Waking God” and “The Sacred Rota,” a main protagonist by the name of Andrew talks about ‘precipitating events.’ These events are single moments when history changes, even the lead up to the event may have occurred in days, weeks or even years. The assassinations of Lincoln, Kennedy, King were precipitating events; a single moment that changed history. The start of World War I, the A-Bomb, and the fall of the Berlin Wall were such events. To deny that this planet and all that dwell therein are not in the throes of massive change is ludicrous. The economy, religion, education, health care, the environment and the very fabric of society are on the verge of some kind of massive change. Does this mean destruction? Does it mean the end of the world? Do we base our future on the ranting of hell, fire and brimstone pulpits? Do we hide our heads in the sand and go the way of the Dodo? Is this what all of the ancient prophecies tell us? Will the final precipitating event be December 21, 2012?

Like I said, if you buy into the doom and gloom Armageddon scenario, go out and have some fun. It will all be over soon. The greatest disservice of presenting this interpretation is that it generates the powerful force of fear. This fear may well be the undoing of humanity. But this is not the message of prophecy. The message is one of hope and transformation. The prophecies herald out the old and make way for the new. Yes, the loss of ‘worn out dogma’ will be painful to many. We are no longer able to stay ‘comfortably numb.’ Too much is happening and it is happening at an ever increasing rate. The prophecies all point to a ‘precipitating moment;’ a moment that will forever alter the way we perceive the world. The momentum has been building for some time, but a ‘day’ will come where all must change. The seers tell us that, just as in quantum physics, what we believe, we will see. What we seek, we will find. The door that we knock on will be opened. What we ask for, we will receive. The prophets also tell us that we must beware of which doors we approach and what beliefs we cling to. They tell us that we have finally journeyed to the end of the old ways and that to continue in those ways courts disaster. We choose, that is our birthright, choice. A great Avatar once said, “Fear not.” Do not be mislead by the false prophets of doom and do not be misguided by those who would have you be led as sheep.

A CONFLUENCE OF EVENTS: 2102

When I read the blog that follows (Excerpted here with the url for the entire post), I was reminded of a conversation that I had with Marvin Wilson and Steven Martin on my BlogTalkRadio show. We were discussing the book, THE TRUTH, and what we foresaw as events centering on the year 2012. I mentioned that we are at a stage where there is a “Confluence of Events.” In other words, many things are happening in the world at the same time. Individually, these events have happened before, but the difference is that now they are happening all at once.
In the past, there have been periods of global warming and massive cooling. There have been disruptions in the natural order of things. In the past there have been political, social, economic and environmental upheavals. But, in the past, these events tended to occur singularly or in related groupings. For example, the Depression of 1929 was an economic event that was followed by major political events. George Washington had to deal with a “mini-ice age” when crossing the Delaware. There have been periods of climatic calamity which had major economic impacts. But today, things are a bit different. Many events are’ flowing together’ simultaneously. Thus, we have a confluence of events.

The world is dealing with major climatic, social, economic and political events all at once. While the recent focus has been on economic issues, climate change is still accelerating at un-predicted rates. Many social systems are crumbling and religious institutions are fighting for survival. The world political stage is changing dramatically and war looms as a real issue in many parts of the globe. All of these events are happening at a time when prophesy says such events are heralding in a ‘new age’ for humanity.

“According to the Mayan way of measuring and keeping time we are at the end of one age of the Sun, each age lasting 5125 years.

To understand more or less how the Mayan calendar works requires study but we can say as an overview that the Mayans counted and measured many more cycles than we do.
And they inter-relate these cycles as if they were cogs of a giant machine giving each day a unique combination of influences that take into account not only the movement of the Earth, Sun and Moon but also Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and, furthermore, much wider cosmic movements at a galactic level. This system is much more accurate and precise than other calendar systems in other cultures, giving the Mayans the honor of having been the experts in the movements of the celestial bodies and of time.

Their study of these movements in space and time also gave rise to very interesting observations about the distinct influences that affect the Earth and the Solar System in which we are traveling through the great galactic spaces.

For the Maya the 21st December 2012 will be the end of a 5125 year creation cycle. A cycle that began in 3114 BC in our calendar. It is the end of a 13 Baktun round and the beginning of a new creation… or in modern terminology it’s the end of one age and the beginning of a New Age. It also corresponds to an alignment of our solar system to the centre of the galaxy.

What this will mean for us who are alive in this time witnessing the events that take place on the planet will depend on many things, not least our state of consciousness.
It is interesting to also note the extent to which the dates of the Mayan calendar co-inside with other information as much on the scientific side as on the side of prophecies in various cultures.
According to the Incas we are presently entering a new Pachakutik or a new era on this planet. According to traditional elders in Peru the process of the new Pachakutik began in 1990 and this process of changing Pachakutiks takes 22 years… being completed in August 2012…The Hopi elders have also said that the Earth is in a time of purification and preparation that began in 1998 and will end in… 2012.

Seneca elders also say that we are in the midst of a 25 years purification period that will end in 2012. In South Africa an 80 year old Zulu Shaman has spoken of a certain star with a long tail that will return thousands of years after it was last seen, causing big climatic and weather changes. He said it would return in the year red bull which corresponds to 2012 in our calendar. The Maoris say that at the beginning of time the Earth and sky were pushed apart by the Gods of the sea, the wind and war and that they will eventually crash back together in the year 2012.
Studies of the I Ching have revealed that this system of prediction reaches a kind of zero point in the year 2012.

A number of reported Near Death Experiences have also spoken of being shown visions of the future in which there were dramatic changes on the planet by the year 2012.
Especially interesting are studies with children that have had near death experiences and reported changes on the planet with relation to climate, society and consciousness, all pointing toward 2012.

Changes in the Earths Geomagnetic field are being noted by scientists who say that the Geomagnetic field is dropping and in recent times, dropping at an ever increasing rate. When it reaches zero point there will be a reversal of planetary polarity. The Canadian government has been monitoring the North Pole and say that it has been moving since 1904 but since 1974 its moving 4 times faster than before. Meanwhile, French Geologists have noted areas where polarities are being reversed in the ocean to the south of South Africa. They say that the magnetic fields are disappearing around the poles and that there are huge masses of molten iron beneath the earth’s surface at the poles that are rotating in a reverse direction, weakening the magnetic fields.

Siberian geologist Dr Alexey Dimitriev has studied at length increased solar activity and the Earth’s magnetic field and concludes that a reversal is underway and this he says, also relates to temperature changes and the frequency of earthquakes, hurricanes, floods etc which have increased by 600% in the past 40 years. Dimitriev says, also that the solar system is moving through a plasma cloud… (Plasma is like a gas of electrons) and that this also is affecting the climate, the geo-magnetic field and other planetary and atmospheric elements.
At the centre of a tornado or hurricane vacuums are created that are related to phenomena such as fire balls and other lights. The frequency of these kinds of phenomena is also in the increase although physics doesn’t fully understand why.

In reality there are many different types of phenomena that are presenting themselves and pushing the boundaries of what we know in relation to the mechanics of the universe and to more than one of the more open minded scientists around say that we are heading toward some kind of zero point that will lead to dramatic changes and also great revelations as to the nature of many of the mysteries still not understood by our science.”

The above is a fairly good summary about the context of 2012 prophecies. Much of what is mentioned about science can be verified at various NASA and other scientific sites. The UN’s IPCC can certainly verify the very real climate shifts that are occurring. So where does this lead us? Is 2012 the end of the world? I, for one, do not think so and neither do most mystics nor secret societies believe the “end” is near. However, there is consensus that dramatic changes are happening and that the pace of change is quickening. The actual direction of that change will have its course set by mass consciousness. If society adopts an attitude of fear, the times may be real rough. On the other hand, if people decide that it is truly time for the old ways, the old paradigm, to go the way of the dinosaur, we may well enter a new age of enlightenment.

Over the coming months, much will be said about 2012. In January, the History Channel will have another show about Nostradamus and his predictions concerning 2012. In all likelihood, they will not get it right since their last show on the Books of Nostradamus caved in to the peddlers of fear. There is no question that the religious right is using 2012 as a means to frighten people into thing that these are the “End Times.” Again, buying in to that fear may well be self-fulfilling. The key here is to keep an open mind. Examine all of the data and mania that will be surfacing in greater depth in 2009 and try to see the positive in all things. For example, new retail sales reports will soon show that that holiday spending at the end of 2008 was a disaster. While that sounds bad, another look may indicate that the consumer has finally decided to end its spending spree that has almost decimated the world’s environment. That is a positive thing. With new priorities being set by the Obama administration, it may well be possible that, despite near economic collapse, we may not be entering a time where our public priorities have now veered in a more positive direction. Will the Phoenix arise from the ashes of the burning old world? Only time will tell.

THE LOST BOOK OF NOSTRADAMUS: THEY HAVE IT ALL WRONG! PART I

“The Lost Book of Nostradamus” was recently aired on the History Channel. They got it all wrong! While sensationalism sells and controversy attracts listeners, the History Channel should have done more to balance the commentary on this newly discovered manuscript. While their was a hint of mystical inference in some of the commentary, most so called ‘experts’ greatly missed the mark in the interpretation of the text and images in The Prophecies by this well known seer.

In a multi-part series of articles it is my intent to show that the current popular interpretations of the symbols presented in the “Lost Book” are sadly lacking in efficacy. In doing so, the current buzz around this book will have done Nostradamus and humanity a great disservice. It is important to keep in mind that current interpretations are geared to a comparison of the text to Christian ideology, mytghs and scriptures. By spending most of the analysis comparing Nostradamus, prophecies to the Bible in general, and revelations in particular, the effort becomes self-serving and self-fulfilling.

Nostradamus was a mystic with ties to several secret societies, most notably, the Rose Cross. In this context, new levels of observation come to light when viewing the images contained in the text. As a matter of fact, if one examines The Secret Symbols of the Rosicrucian’s, it will be clear that there is more than meets the eye with respect to the intent and meaning of the Nostradamus prophecies. Further, while the commentators on the show made mention of tarot symbols, it is clear that their understanding is not at the esoteric levels. In my co-authored novel, “Waking God,” the concept of a Tarot Code was introduced. The book is a mystical treatise in the guise of a spiritual thriller and states that the tarot has hits roots in imagery that preceded the Assyrian Empire and has been carried forth into the modern era. These symbols provide a pictorial history of human evolution as well as clues, or prophecies regarding our future. These symbols are found in almost every civilization and yet are understood by only a few.

Contrary to information and suppositions made in the History Channel’s broadcast, the symbols of Nostradamus transcend those images often touted by biblical scholars as messages of doom and world’s end. Perhaps the only real accurate statement on the show that was symbol related is that the prophecies give clues as to the Apocalypse. But even here, it is important to remember that the term ‘apocalypse’ does not mean the end of the world. The word means ‘revelation, to uncover, knowledge revealed’ and not Armageddon or the destruction of the physical world. The term apocalypse has been hijacked by religious dogma to frighten unsuspecting followers into believing that all prophecies that deal with the word apocalypse support their notion that one day, deity will destroy its creation and only the faithful will survive. The apocalypse of Nostradamus deals with the ‘end of lies, not the end of times.’

While more details will be presented in subsequent articles, it should be understood that the true and inner meaning behind the words of Nostradamus concerns humanity’s spiritual awakening. The prophecies are a light post aimed at leading humanity into a new era of spirituality that is devoid of dogma and founded upon the notion of personal spiritual enlightenment. The same can be said for the much misunderstood Book of Revelations. The accuracy of his predictions serves to underscore the fact that he knew the benchmarks that would be achieved as humanity travels on its path of evolution. He was showing people that tough choices must be made if we, in fact, ever hope to prevent our own self-destruction. He was alerting humanity to the ideas that our choices are leading to such things as environmental, social and political collapse if we do not change our way of thinking. His warnings were meant to divert us from catastrophe rather than suggesting that such catastrophe is inevitable. The goal a person telling you not to go down a certain road because the bridge has collapsed is not to foretell of your death; it is meant to prevent your death.

In future articles I will show that the serpents and dragons in the images of Nostradamus are representative of evil or the devil. The female images are not about women trying to become Pope. The Tower of destruction is not about the end of the world. The images of apparent clashes between Muslims and Christians do not predict inevitable religious wars. The symbols of Nostradamus and the Tarot are not about an anti-Christ. Throughout religious history biblical texts, taken out of context, have been used to justify all manner of crime and injustice. The prophecies of Nostradamus are another voice crying out in the wilderness of human history urging us to change our ways and enter a period of great enlightenment. It is incumbent upon modern interpreters of these messages not to fall into the age old religious trap and of using these words of wisdom to frighten humanity into a set of self-fulfilling prophecies.
