GENOCIDE BY OMISSION

Okay, maybe genocide is too strong of a word to use but you have to wonder. In Maine, LaPage has managed, in a day or two, to change the Health Care law. In essence, 28,000 mostly elderly and handicapped will no longer be eligible for Medicaid. Nationally, the Tea Party and other more conservative Republicans are on a vendetta against the elderly and the poor, promising to not approve deficit increases unless Medicare and medicaid are altered and funding reduced.

The bottom line, in my opinion, is that these people are trying to throw away, discard the elderly and lower income Americans. Many of these same people took America out from WW II to create a nation with the highest standard of living on the planet. They worked their asses off for America. Clearly, when these people bought insurance and paid their SS and health care, insurance companies and the government knew that one day these folks would retire and be in need of health care. They all took the money, but now they don't want to pay. We have placed Profit over caring, concern for the dollar over the integrity of human life.

This in not my America. We do not 'omit' whole segments of society so that insurance companies, oil companies and the rich can make more profit while the rest of the country languishes as they choose between food or medicine. We are engaged in the wrong debate. We should be talking about how we can ensure that all Americans live a life with dignity, free of concern over food, shelter and health. Why should only the politicians and the rich live the carefree life at the expense of those who have worked the factories, hauled the trash, built the roads, taught our kids and fought our wars. If this nation claims to be christian, you have fooled me. You want to steal the widows purses and then talk about free enterprise. Give me a break. Decisions we have made are already coming back to bite us in the but. If we decide to lose our humanity, I wonder what consequence that will bring!

END THE GENOCIDE IN BURMA

When a government willfully allows its peopole to die because of either direct action or inaction, that is genocide.

When will the people of the world learn the lesson that dictatorial regimes that wantonly kill is not acceptable? We failed to hear the message of the Holocost; we failed to hear the cries in Africa; we failed to hear the cries in Serbia, Cambodia, Sudan and now we fail to hear the cries in Burma. What happens when there is no one left to cry?

Humanity is not indestructable. Failing to take responsibility for our future means that other forces will do it for us - the picture is not a pretty one. Who cares about the Burmese junta? Who cares if they do not want aid workers? What will they do if the world helps despite their protest? It is not like they are a superpower. Will China really step in to aid the Burmese government and come down on the side of letting hundreds of thousands die just before the start of the Olympics?

The leaders of the world should hang their heads in shame at their inaction, their lack of courage, their lack of humanity. Their are those who predict that 2012 will be a time of reckoning. Their are those who see 2012 as a moment of Great Awakening. The decisions the world makes now will determine the outcome. We sow our seeds and at the moment, the harvest looks bleak!

HOUSE COMMITTEE ADDS GOD TO GENOCIDE LIST!

The U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee decided to broaden its resolution condemning the Ottoman Empires genocide of Armenians to include a few more historical events. Not wanting to offend just the Turks, the Committee thought they should spread the condemnations. Citing the contagious new disease, Bush-itis, which makes you want to offend everyone, allies in particular, The Committee felt they should set the historical records straight.

The new resolution has labeled as genocide the following events or actions: the Assyrian Empire, the Peloponnesian War, the Amalekites and the Midianites, the Third Punic War, the Mongols, Christopher Columbus, Spain in general and the Inquisition, the U.S. slaughter of native Americans, the Slave trade, Argentina, the British for their actions in Australia, the French Revolution, the Germans for their actions in South-West Africa, the UK for the Irish famine, the Russians, the Nazis, Croatia, Guatemala, Bangladesh, the Tutsi, the Khmer Rouge, Indonesia, Lebanon, Iraq, the former Soviet Union, China for their actions in Tibet, Brazil, Bosnia, Rwanda, Sudan, and the Pope for the slaughter of the Cathars and Pagans in general, and God and his angels for their action in Egypt and the general smiting of those opposed to Him.

The White said that they were pleased that the Committee did not just single out Turkey since we still need our bases in their Country. Deputy Press Secretary Scott Stanzel said that while more historical could have been a part of the resolution, it will do for now. He added that he hopes the committee will tackle this touchy subject again next year in the hopes of telling historians what should be in the history books rather than relying upon common sense and historical conjecture.

In response to the Committee’s resolution, not only has Turkey recalled its ambassador but the Vatican, England, Spain, Russia, China, most Latin American countries, Indonesia and every country mentioned or implied in the resolution has followed Turkey’s lead. It has been noted that angels have been seen at the U.S. Treasury erasing the words, In God We Trust from U.S. currency in retaliation for the Biblical implications of genocide.

Committee members were not concerned over the recent diplomatic events as they assured each other that their actions would get them some votes at re-election time from the groups that have been targets of the genocides cited in the resolution. Their only real concern was the angelic activity but, they placated themselves by admitting that the removal of the phrase on the currency would gain the votes of the atheists. They were further heartened by the fact that the President had not as yet alienated all of these groups and they were pleased to beat the White house to the punch.
