The newly released UN IPCC has sounded a clear warning about climate change indicating that it is not just coming, it's here. But so what, who cares? Who's going to do anything? Has anyone changed their daily routine as a result of the report. Yeah, it's only just come out, but my god, people have been talking and warning about this stuff for decades, even centuries.
Will governments respond to the report? Well, they didn't to previous ones and, in fact, have managed to make matters even worse. Of course for those who have experienced the devastation of climate change, and there are millions, their plight surfaces briefly and quickly fade to nothingness. Sure, they may get some aid, but help seems to just flit from one disaster to another with little accomplishment in between.
It's almost as if Mother Nature is conducting guerrilla warfare-hit and run-leaving governments flummoxed as to what to do. Every time there's a climate conference little or no agreements are reached since the power of the oil/coal industries manage to use disasters to their financial advantage, even if they have to pay fines.
As the IPCC report says, "We're sitting ducks." Perhaps that's been the plan all along as it is quite obvious that 'reports' make little difference.
